Hi! My name is Leah. I began my career as an assistant photographer at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C. Three years later I packed up my bags and moved to NYC not knowing a soul. I was extremely fortunate to land photo editing jobs at Vogue and Men's Journal Magazines. After working in editorial, I moved onto television and worked as a Photo Director for Spike TV for 6 years. Some friends and I started a gallery space, known as Frontrunner Gallery in TriBeCa, which hosted over 22 shows of emerging artists in NYC from 2010-2012. Additionally, I had the privilege to study under Pultizer Prize photographer , David Turnley. Through a photograph I tell a story, convey an emotion and do my best to capture someone’s true character. I have always been very curious and photography gives me the excuse to travel, meet people and experience things I would never had had the opportunity to otherwise. I am very grateful to be on this adventure. When not working, I enjoy hanging out with my little hot dog Sarah, my daughter Emmie Sue, and documenting life in the Mississippi Delta and Atlanta.
